I’ve had some knee problems the last year that have kept me from getting out to shoot as much as I used to. I’m feeling much better now and will be back out with the tripod again. Enjoy life! Halloween Portraits

Well it’s time to share some Halloween images of my niece (Alissa) in her Freddy Krueger Costume. We hit of of the local grave yards for this shoot. Ok we went across the street from her house. Lucky to be so close huh? Todaay I used my Canon 60D, handheld Canon 580II Flash as master on camera. Canon 580II as slave held free hand by my sister to the left of Alissa (Freddy). 1/60 @ f10 ISO 100 Lens used, Canon 17-85mm. Very heavy overcast day. The end of Hurricane Sandy. 2 Canon 580 II Flashes.

HDR Processing shots

Here are a few Screen shots of an HDR image being created in Photomatix pro 4.2 (32-bit). This is a fine program for this type of photography. I have used others and this is my favorite.

Back when I first started doing HDR photography I went out of control with my processing. Like most people new to it I pushed the limits. I really liked was I was doing yet I didn’t think it looked right. I seemed to “go with the flow”. After all, most everyone else had pics like that. I thought that was how it should look. I don’t like t see my old images but that’s a lesson I guess. Seeing how far you’ve come over the years.
I’ll show a screen shot of this old pickup in Photomatix before the processing and one when the processing is complete in Photomatix Pro 4.2. A third image is my final version after some tinkering in PS CS6.

Mustangs New and Old on the Quarter mile

Two Mustangs meet at Quaker City Motorsports, Salem Ohio. One is new and computerized, the other vintage. The other, pure raw horsepower.
This was the scene of a girls senior photo shoot. The track closed to the public. We had the track alone for a coupe hours. No light tree but we did just fine with out it.

One fine Ol Gasser

I took some pictures at the New Brighton, Pa. Car Cruise on Sept. 15th 2012 . I would like to create a slide show if I can find the time.
This HDR effect is a little stronger than I normally do but it seems to be what a lot of people like. Just a simple three bracket shot.

The Bench In The Shade

That bench in the shade just looks so nice. It’s looks so inviting. I just feel like sitting on this porch for hours and relaxing. Well I couldn’t I had to take some pictures and go on about my day since I had to work. I haven’t been posting any photos since I started building my garage. I also have a 1965 VW beetle I spend plenty of time working on. when the weather cools down I hope to start painting a lot more.
This image is three bracketed shots. one over and under to create an HDR.

The Glade Creek Grist Mill is a new mill that was completed in 1976 at Babcock. Fully operable, this mill was built as a re-creation of one which once ground grain on Glade Creek long before Babcock became a state park. Known as Cooper’s Mill, it stood on the present location of the park’s administration building parking lot. Babcock State Park, West Virginia. (info)
